How many bricks per square metre?
Bricks = wall area × 59.26 × skins × (1 + waste)
Most builders round this to 60 bricks per m² for a single skin and 120 for a double skin wall.
Worked example
A garden wall 5 m long and 1.8 m high is 9 m². In a single skin that is 534 bricks, or 560 bricks with 5% waste: 2 packs of 500. In a double skin it needs about 1,120 with waste.
